For those of you who don’t know if you like cats or not, here is the perfect game for you if you want to know what its like owning a cat. Well, actually you don’t ever own a cat, cat’s own you, and your house, and your bed, and your clothes and pretty much everything near you that you thought you had any control over.

Catz opens up by introducing you to some very cute kittens who are in need of a good home. Once you have selected one, you get to give it a name and then off to the living room you go.

Catz is not a game of extreme action, unless you consider catnip to be a high adventure item. It is a game of scratching the kitty behind the ears, feeding the kitty, playing with a ball with the kitty and generally making the kitty happy.

After you get your new kitten home you will have a chance to look around his or her new home and check out the options that you have for taking care of kitty. There is a store where you can purchase items like food and toys. There is a camera option where you can take photos of your kitty. And there is an mail box where you can get messages from friends and family in the game.

Yes, the store requires money to purchase items, so how do you get this ever elusive green paper? Well you can do odd jobs for people. You will find that you have a large number of friends in the game who also own cats and sometimes they will ask you to do odd jobs for them to help keep their kittens healthy and happy. The jobs are not usually too difficult, like going and taking a picture of a cat, or just going over to your friends house to keep the cat company and give it a scritch behind the ears.

Don’t forget to groom your cat on occasion, they love it when you brush them. Well sometimes they do. If you ever want to see how your cat is doing, just go to the status page and see how your kitten is doing. There are meters for how much they love you, how hungry they are, if they need grooming and how much energy the kitty has. You can use these meters to help you determine what needs to be done to make sure your kitten is receiving the best care possible. Or you could look at it as this being your kitten controlling your life in its best interests.

At times you will turn on the game and find that your kitten is sleeping in the middle of the floor and quite happily so. This is good as the kitty will recharge its batteries and be ready to play and cuddle.

Your PDA is your link to your email, camera and local pet store. The pet store is where you go shopping for various items for your kitten and your house. There is food, cat decorations in the form of collars, hats and other things, and toys like sparkly balls and wind up mice. For the house you can purchase new wall paper, or furniture like a new couch.

Well, there's not much else to say about the game, other than you will probably want to keep the DS plugged in so that you can just let the game run on your desk while your at work and keep you pet healthy and happy all day long.
