Preview - Lost in Blue: Shipwrecked

Fun in the sun, if by fun you mean a desperate struggle for survival.
Nintendo Wii | SeanMike @ E3 | July 20, 2008

The son of a CEO, Aidan and his pet lemur monkey Hobo, find themselves marooned on a desert island. It's up to him to decide whether or not he wants to explore or try to escape from the island.

Aidan and Hobo aren't alone on the island. They meet up with Lucy, who has a dog of her own, and later with Geord and Fiona, the two of whom might not be all they show themselves to be.

Aidan has three basic things to watch out for: thirst, hunger, and stamina. Finding drinkable water, finding good sources of food, and getting enough rest to keep your stamina up are all important things.

But how do you do that? Basically, by mini-games.

There around 40 mini-games in Lost in Blue: Shipwrecked. Mini-games include doing things like hunt, forage, cooking, rodeo, harpooning, carpentry, sailing, and grabbing vines. Using the Wii controller brings the player more into the games.

The rest of the time you're trying to survive on the island. Doing things like shaking coconut trees will get coconuts to drop - or you can get Hobo to run up a tree and get a coconut for you.

Lost in Blue: Shipwrecked looks to be another solid family entry for the Wii.

It is important to note: The lemur can ride the dog. Monkeys riding other animals is ALWAYS vital to game details.
