PreviewCooking Mama 3

Cooking_mama_3_010 The third installment in the Cooking Mama series will include 80 new recipes and the ability to shop for ingredients. Players will also be able to combine ingredients to make new dishes like they did in Cooking Mama 2. New this time is the ability to catch items and save steps during the game before doing something fatal, which causes Mama’s eyes to flame up.

The demo of Cooking Mama 3 was my first experience with the series, and I was not at all good at it. Mama just kept getting more and more upset. I have seen Cooking Mama reviews and gameplay, so I can say that this installment fits the series well with the same look, feel and sounds.

Cooking_mama_3_023 For the third installment, they are also promising more multiplayer features, though they haven’t finalized them yet. But as there was a large jump in multiplayer ability between the first and second, they’re hoping to get at least as much of a jump between the second and third. You’ll have the ability to exchange full recipes you’ve created in the combine mode, competitive modes and maybe even a few surprises.

Sadly, I didn’t finish making the marshmallows during the demo, because I was afraid of how they would have turned out. I couldn’t face the reviews of Cooking Mama’s picky friends. Best keep the cooking in my own kitchen, I think. But with the Cooking Mama franchise hitting the 4 million served mark, you can be sure gamers will be excitedly awaiting this title.
