Wired controllers have always had a habit of getting in your way when you are right in the middle of playing your favorite game. I have always liked wireless controllers for the PlayStation 3 and PC. I got to try the Thrustmaster: F1 Wireless Gamepad Ferrari F60 Limited Edition, which doesn’t get in your way like wired controllers of the past, is compatible for our games and makes perfect sense to us game junkies.
There are many wireless PS3 controllers that are plentiful and bulky and not very comfortable for people with smaller hands. The F1 F60’s handles are thin but also the right size for a person with bigger hands. It’s sleek and light, which makes it comfortable for most everyone. The controller is black with chromed red and silver and has logos on the front of the handles like the logos on a Euro racecar, which makes it pretty cool.
The F1 F60 works with the PC and the PS3 with just a flip of a switch on the top of the controller. Just plug in the USB adapter for it to work. Switching from PC to PS3 is a snap with this wireless controller. The F1 F60 is versatile with most PC games, but remember, not all controllers are compatible with every PC game on the market.
The range of the F1 F60 is very good for an off-brand PS3/PC controller. I played quit a few games on the PC and PS3 using it. The signal is very clear — if you were worrying about the RF signal to the controller. The range of the controller is about 20+ feet of play, which is good for any wireless controller. Now you, as the gaming maniac you are, can have the room to play with your gaming buddies and friends until your heart gives out from exhaustion.
I had a few problems with some of the controls while playing some of the games. For example, the slider stuck at times when pushing it down. It didn’t bother me much. The buttons are rounded and smooth, so your fingers don’t get sore from playing for hours on end. The axis on the F1 F60 has great retraction time, so you don’t miss a lick of your gaming amusement.
The sensitivity for the axis was average for this controller. In some games, the axis sensitivity was low but could be adjusted in the options menu, and it worked just fine. The reaction times on the buttons are average, and they didn’t have any problems in the games that they were used in. Also, the pressure sensitivity for the L2 and R2 were as good as or better than the original PS3 controllers. So all the controls for the F1 F60 are average and in good working order for this cool sleek PS3/PC controller.
The F1 F60 is a wonderful tool for gamers who like switching from PC to PS3. The controller works well with some games on the PC but works for all the games on the PS3. If you are worried about its compatibility, you should weigh your options. Just to let you know, this is a great controller for an awesome price. The range of the controller is over the limit but not out of this world.
Overall, the Thrustmaster: F1 Wireless Gamepad Ferrari F60 Limited Edition is fun to play with from the beginning to end. It only gave me some problems with the PC games because of incompatible drivers for some of the games. Some controllers aren’t compatible with every game on the market, and this one is no different. If you want a controller compatible with PS3 and PC, this is one you will treasure for a long time. The price is medium and right, so you should definitely pick it up.
