Do you love trucks?

Do you love BIG trucks?

Do you love BIG engines?

Do you love to crush things?

If so, Monster Jam: Path of Destruction is for you!

I have always been a fan of monster trucks, to the point where I have wanted to build my own. Thankfully, Activision gave me my wish, and in Monster Jam: Path of Destruction, you are allowed to create your own monster truck! It is not without a price though, a lot of the upgraded add-ons and equipment you have to unlock via races, stunts, etc. 991736_20101109_640screen003

It has been a long time since we last seen a quality Monster Jam game, and I think if they keep it up in this direction; they are bound for great things. Now I should say, when buying Monster Jam: Path of Destruction for the PlayStation 3 it comes with something awesome. For instance, the PS3 version comes with a SIX-AXIS steering wheel, that is really comfortable and easy to install, and for the young’ns, it comes with some STICKERS!

Monster Jam: Path of Destruction tries to stick to the Monster Jam roots. This time around they focus a lot more on crushing things under the insane amount of weight. Not to mention, a total of 28 authentic monster trucks including: Grave Digger, Maximum Destruction and Grinder just to name a few. That is not including the custom trucks you can create! 991736_20100917_640screen004

Monster Jam: Path of Destruction does not leave you hanging for more excitement either; with 32 racing events, 24 freestyle and five more bonus modes, it should keep you busy for a while. Of course this is not including multiplayer!

The development team did a fantastic job at attention to detail; I held up a actual image to the game and it was a spot on match. The only thing that could come as close — perfection wise — is the real Grave Digger truck! I commend the development team for their hard work; they made the experience believable for me! 991736_20101109_640screen006

One thing I wanted to test out was how it appealed to kids. So I called in my 4-year-old son, in hopes he could tell me what he thought. Well, he loved it; what kid would not love a giant truck running over cars? That was not the main thing he loved though, it was the sounds of the trucks. I asked him why the sounds and his reply was: “They sound sooo cool.”

In conclusion, Monster Jam: Path of Destruction is a great game, for all ages. I am happy someone finally developed a monster truck game that was authentic in every sense of the word. It is not often you come across a good monster truck game; and Monster Jam: Path of Destruction captures everything that is good about the sport.
