I do not think there is a gamer alive (above the age of 18) that has not heard of or seen the name Tom Clancy. If you have not heard of him, then go to your local game store and browse around, because eventually, you will see the name across a few titles. One thing I have always known Tom Clancy for is, of course, Ghost Recon.

The Wii installment of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon differs from its predecessors. However, the differences are for the better (at least on the Wii), and I had fun with it.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon utilizes a unique cover system, allowing the player to pop in and out of cover for pot shots, as well as to fire blindly. The enemies come in short waves, but after each wave, you have the chance to move forward. 4181mhjekgl

I will go out and say, I honestly did not find the fight to be difficult nor was there any challenge. I thought on more than one occasion it was just a little bit too easy. In my eyes, the AI was kind of idiotic and at times just blatantly stupid. Does that make it a bad game? No way; it was fun, and it has one aspect other big franchises are forgetting: co-op.

Cooperative mode in Ghost Recon is fun, and it is all on the same screen, allowing players to know exactly where the others are. Also another awesome feature is allowing friends to join in out of the blue. Say you are blasting your way through one of the 30 missions and a friend comes over and says, “Wow, dude, this looks awesome! Can I play after this mission?” This is where you hand him the other Wii-mote and say, “No, join now.” That is a powerful thing, isn’t it? 51mmipgc26l

It would not be a true Ghost Recon game without realistic weaponry. This installment comes with a slew of real-world licensed weaponry. So it is OK to be picky; you are given the opportunity to find your perfect weapon for the job. Not only are the weapons real, but the locations are as well. Where else can you frag people in a village in Norway, huh? Yeah, nowhere except Ghost Recon, that’s where!

I am surprised at how polished the backgrounds and foliage look, though. Everything is very well-detailed, and it is good to see they put a lot of time and thought into it. You can always tell when a game is well-developed, and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon was developed really well. Should I of have expected anything less from a Tom Clancy game? 51ynr6zu9xl

The only thing I have left to say is that Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon is a very fun arcade-style shooter. I really loved playing it solo and with a friend. It was not as serious as the other Ghost Recons, which I think really made this game shine for me. It has been awhile since I had that much fun with a Tom Clancy game.
