Nintendo announces the Wii U, which is a Wii too, or two, for you. And you and you and you and you. That said, one of the catchiest things about the Wii U, is the interesting controller. Although the controller looks clunky, it actually feels quite comfortable in your hands.
It is slightly smaller than an iPad but has many of the same features. The touch control is amazingly accurate and the “controller” case around the touchscreen is perfect. My only concern is the plastic feels a little cheap, but then Nintendo knows its market and understands that kiddies are going to drop, crash, break, wreck and whatever else they can do to these controllers, so I am sure their durability will stand. I haven’t had any reason to doubt Nintendo in the past, so I won’t start now.
I do have to say, the absolute coolest thing about the controller, is that it is a console itself. You don’t have to play games on the big screen. You can play them on the controller while you watch TV, then switch back to the big screen to finish your game. You can play games solely on the controller screen or on the big screen or flip flop back and forth.
The touchscreen controls work great within games. Imagine a ninja star displayed on the touchscreen. The game on the big screen has ninja’s popping out at you, and you make a stroke across the ninja star to throw it at your enemies! Interactivity within console games was just elevated. You may beg to differ, as these are things that can be done with full motion. But trust me, having a graphic display, with touch capabilities, somehow makes motion controlled gaming SOOO much better!
