Fluke HD can be described as a simple yet addictive racing game for two to six players. It is a strictly single-player game that can be played against three increasingly challenging levels of AI or with friends in person. Fluke HD could be describe as “Snakes & Ladders” meets “Ludo.” The players race their four pieces to the finish line by rolling the dice, and the first to take all four pieces to the end wins.
The game rules are as follows: Rolling a six lets you bring a piece out and provides an extra turn. When you do not have any pawns out on the track, you get three rolls to try and get a six in order to take a pawn out. When you land on a space occupied by another player’s pawn, the piece is captured and returned to its owner’s supply. There are many tiles along the track with special properties that move your pawn forward or backward, or can trigger a special event. One special kind of the above-mentioned tile is the teleport devices: If you land on them, your piece appears in a matching color teleport device up or down along the track. There are also many other types of special tiles.
The game’s graphics are polished, and the clutter free interface helps in making the game more enjoyable. There are several tracks in the game that differ in length. The longer the track, the more challenging the gameplay thanks to the number of movement possibilities due to both dice results and special tiles. Fluke HD is a fantastic family and friends game that can be played by on a single iPad.
