Based on the classic James Bond film, this game takes us back to the original James Bond and it is quite cool. Everything from Sean Connery's likeness, to the cool spy gadgets, and of course the hot babes helps immerse you in the world of a 60's spy movie.

The game closely follows the storyline of the original movie, and even reenacts scenes (which I thought was a nice nostalgic touch). In the game, you of course are James Bond, British MI6 super agent. Your mission is to go to Russia and help a defector, while also securing a top secret Russian cipher machine. Of course, as in the movie, it is a setup from the evil crime organization Octopus, and James must fight his way out while still securing the machine and the girl.

The gameplay is quite easy to pick up, and most gamers will find that they can handle the game with ease. The control set up makes sense, and permits you to enjoy the various weapons and gadgets without a lot of thought. I really enjoyed using the typical Bond gadgets, and even got creative and used them just to check the environment. I won't play spoiler and tell you what you get to use - you'll have to play the game. The play is full of explosions and other cool affects which help keep you into the action sequences.

The graphics of the game are quite solid. Bond looks like Bond, and the settings give you a real 1960's feel to them. It was obvious that the developers took some time to study the film and ensure the game was as true as possible, which made for a good experience. Better yet, Sean Connery actually did Bond's voice which was one of the best parts of the game. Hearing "Bond, James Bond" always sounds best from The Man.

This is a solid third person shooter is a must for any Bond or spy fan. However, I believe any gamer that likes a good storyline and wants to enjoy a retro setting would also have a lot of fun with it. This game is at least a rental for most gamers, and a buy for those dedicated fans.
