I know you have seen them driving down the expressway, maybe while creeping along in traffic. More often than not you will see them in the back window of some full size pick up truck. The decal with Calvin from the Calvin and Hobbes comic strip urinating on the Ford or Chevy symbol. This same juvenile mind set unfortunately is the driving force behind this barely adequate racing game.

The game offers you opportunity to race just about every Ford or Chevy model in a variety of race environments. You can race for the Westington Cup, which is won by having success is variety of races using different car/truck classes like SUVs, muscle cars, sports cars, mid-size trucks, etc. There are also some special races that are mission based in which you pick up items from different places or you can even transport people to different places. Some types of challenge races are also available which will permit you to unlock different parts or accessories for you car so you can begin to customize vehicle.

The game play itself is a bit ragged as the controls really are odd and the feel of true speed doesn't exist. At first thought I wondered if maybe there was something wrong with my controller. Then I thought that I needed a driving wheel but ultimately I concluded that the set up was just plain poor. Some of the slightest movements resulted in crazy crashes. This made for some tedious races, as it took forever to finish because I kept wrecking.

Visually the cars were all done with great care and showed a lot of detail. This was the highlight of the game as you really were actually able to select from 48 different models. The racing environments were lame and offered little imagination or detail. There are definitely some cookie cutter backgrounds going on which made me think back to the old racing games at the arcade. And I would not say that with some sort of nostalgic glow either. The sound was passable, but again nothing to really get excited about.

This game is definitely inadequate compared to the great abundance of other more entertaining racing games with better game play and better concepts. I would steer clear of this game just as I'd steer clear of the stock of these two former automotive giants. You can do a lot better on all accounts.
